Let's get started! 🥣👇
Our Traditional Sourdough Stuffing Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf sourdough bread (preferably 2–3 days old)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 large eggs
Instructions:
-
Prepare the bread:
Cut the sourdough loaf into 1-inch cubes and spread them out on a baking sheet. Let them dry overnight or bake at 300°F for 10-15 minutes until lightly crisp. -
Cook the aromatics:
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, celery, and garlic. Sauté until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes. Stir in the parsley, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. -
Combine the stuffing:
Place the sourdough cubes in a large mixing bowl. Add the sautéed vegetables and herbs, tossing to coat the bread. Whisk the eggs with the broth, then pour the mixture over the bread. Gently toss until evenly moistened. -
Bake:
Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish and cover with foil. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the top is golden and slightly crisp.
